MELDRUM, the Swedish/American band led by former PHANTOM BLUE guitarist Michelle Meldrum (wife of EUROPE axeman John Norum),has begun recording fifteen new songs for its third album with drummer Gene Hoglan (DARK ANGEL, DEATH, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, TESTAMENT),tentatively due next year.
MELDRUM's sophomore album, "Blowin' Up The Machine" was released in Europe in May on Frontiers Records (it just came out in the U.S. this week). MOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy Kilmister makes a guest appearance on the track "Miss Me When I'm Gone", for which he wrote the lyrics and co-wrote the music. In addition, Gene Hoglan can be heard on four songs, while Meldrum's former PHANTOM BLUE bandmate Linda McDonald was responsible for laying down the drum tracks on the rest of the CD.
Hoglan previously played with Meldrum in the '80s thrash outfit WARGOD.
